Frequently Asked Questions – Brows by Willow
What do I need to do to my brows before my appointment?
Absolutely nothing! A brow tidy is included in your appointment, so you can arrive with your brows as they are.
Can I wear makeup to my appointment?
Yes, you can! We’ll clean the area with an antiseptic wipe before applying the anaesthetic, so feel free to wear makeup if you prefer.
Do I need to purchase my own anaesthetic?
Yes, you’ll need to purchase your own anaesthetic from a compound chemist at least 7 days before your appointment. The label must clearly state your name and the purpose of use. I’ll provide you with the name of the specific anaesthetic when you book your appointment. You can also order it online via the button below.
Does it hurt?
While everyone’s pain threshold is different, the process is generally mild, not painless. We apply an anaesthetic to numb the area before and during treatment, making the procedure as comfortable as possible.
I have a special event coming up, when should I book my treatment?
To ensure the best results, we don’t recommend having a cosmetic tattoo procedure right before a big event. The pigment will darken before it starts to fade, typically over the first 3-10 days.
How will I look after the procedure?
Each treatment is unique. After a brow tattoo, you should experience minimal redness or swelling. However, lips and eyeliner tattoos may cause slight swelling, which usually fades quickly.
Is there any aftercare?
Yes! Aftercare is crucial to getting the best results. All aftercare instructions will be provided and discussed during your appointment.
What should I avoid after treatment?
To ensure optimal healing and long-lasting results, please avoid the following for at least 7 days after your procedure:
- DO NOT get the area wet, including exercise
- DO NOT use makeup or makeup cleansers directly on the tattooed area
- DO NOT touch, scratch, or pick the tattoo
Do I need a touch-up appointment?
Yes! A touch-up is essential to maintain the longevity of your new cosmetic tattoo. You’ll need to schedule your touch-up appointment within 6-8 weeks of your initial treatment. If this timeframe is missed, an additional charge may apply.
How long does cosmetic tattooing last?
Cosmetic tattoos are semi-permanent and typically last between 9-24 months, depending on factors such as aftercare, skin type, sun exposure, lifestyle, and beauty routines. Touch-ups are recommended every 1-2 years to keep your brows looking fresh.
Will you touch up a tattoo I had done elsewhere?
Yes! If you have a tattoo from another studio, we’ll start from scratch with a new client session to ensure you get the best possible result.
What is the cancellation policy?
We do have a cancelation fee of $100 if 48 hrs is not given, if 48hrs is not given this will need to be paid before any new bookings are made.
We kindly ask for 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Is cosmetic tattooing suitable for me?
